Friday 19th June saw the start of the Year of the Priesthood. To celebrate this, St Pauls has published the book ‘Priesthood: A Life Open to Christ’. Compiled by Canon Daniel Cronin, this book contains 78 contributions from nuncios, archbishops, bishops and priests from around the world, with each giving their own unique reflection on priesthood, including a contribution from Bishop Drainey.

Archbishop Vincent Nichols was presented with the official launch copy of the book at a reception held in the Throne Room of Archbishop’s House, Westminster, on 19th June. Speaking at the reception, attended by some of the contributors to the book and other invited guests, Canon Cronin said
I am totally convinced the Holy Spirit has been the instigator of this initiative…. I feel certain it will be a truly worthwhile offering thanks to all the cardinals, bishops, abbots and priests who have shared their insights into the priesthood and have very willingly written for their fellow priests, the people of God in general and those considering a call to the priesthood or religious life.
The book, price £10.00, is available from all St Pauls bookshops, other Christian bookshops and online at www.stpauls.org.uk
